An Old Book

Certainly, one cannot feel lonely when there are good books to read. There are books we read once and still love to read a second , third or fourth time. Took out one of my favourite books from the shelf today and it was just as wonderful a feeling reading it today as was the first time.

” There is no friend as loyal as a book ” – Ernest Hemingway

In this book , the author narrates a story through which he shows how one should adapt to changes in life and how to deal with them. It is the story of four characters who live in a maze and look for cheese . Cheese is a metaphor for what we desire to have in life and the maze is the place in the story where the characters look for what they want. The entire book has some pictures with quotes written on it that work as a summary of the point that the author tries to convey step by step as the story progresses. I am sharing a few of them here :

1  ) ” When you stop being afraid , you feel good ! “ – We all at some point of time or the other in our lives would have tried to conquer our fears and to overcome them . And certainly whenever we succeed it brings a lot of happiness to us.

2 ) ” If you do not change , you can become extinct “ – Someone has rightly said that great things never came from comfort zones. Change is inevitable and the sooner we accept this fact the better it is .20180818_1233212.jpg

3 ) ” Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come “ – It is never easy to absorb any change in life quickly. It takes time , a slow transition to be able to mould ourselves to the new circumstances or a new place. But all we need to do is to be steady in our efforts to adapt to that change , if we stay determined then slowly and gradually we acquire the strength to face the bigger changes .20180818_123414.jpg

If you have read this book anytime i am sure you too must have felt great reading it and if you haven’t yet then maybe sometime when you get to read it you shall feel good too.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change ” – Wayne Dyer

” If you always do what you’ve always done, you ‘ll always get what you’ve always got ” – Henry Ford
